The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction can be defined as the belief that people's thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives. A simple definition can be that "like attracts like", or that one's thoughts attracts similar things in real life. For example, if all you have are bad thoughts, you are more likely to have a lot of bad luck than if you think positive and attract positive things. The Law of Attraction is said to be as much of a force as gravity.

Followers of the Law of Attraction point out that anyone can still apply these principles to their life. You can be Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, or nonreligious and you can believe and apply the Law of Attraction to your life. Among the thousands of religions worldwide, only about 15 percent of the world's population is either nonreligious or atheist. Even though these people have no religious beliefs, they may still benefit from the Law of Attraction's ideas that positive thoughts will attract positive things into their lives.

Many people have drawn parallels between the Law of Attraction and Buddhist teachings on karma. Christians assert that the Bible supports the concept of faith as a creative force. In fact, the Law of Attraction describes the "creative force" as the hand of God, and inclusive of all faiths. Proponents of the Law of Attraction point out that it applies to any set of beliefs. Similarly, this Law is seen as becoming close to the power of the creative source and attracting the same strength from one another.
