Metaphysical Interpretation

Metaphysics is the study and clarification as to how one particular thing or idea is related to another. The science is an attempt to expand the understanding of existence, space, time, and possibility. The word metaphysics literally means ‘beyond physical’, and can be applied to any concept application of reality. Therefore, the wording and subsequent explanations of the Bible can be intertwined with metaphysical interpretation.

A metaphysical biblical interpretation is a complex understanding of the Bible which involves the relationship between God and all living beings. If we are to understand a metaphysical interpretation of the Bible, requires opening the mind to the complex relationship that the Bible has to God and Jesus. Metaphysical interpretation involves a realization that the Bible was written in a secret code. By analyzing this code metaphysically the Bible's true meaning can be unveiled.

A metaphysical interpretation of the Bible will enable readers to answer the day to day problems that they face. The most comprehensive connections between metaphysical interpretation and the Bible are most evident in the Books of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. Metaphysics seeks to explain whether there is indeed a God or many gods and whether or not these gods were involved with the creation of the world. One might say that metaphysical interpretations of the Bible endeavor to explain several disparate issues which combine to reveal the Bible's true meaning. One example of a metaphysical interpretation is that the Bible transcends the boundaries of possibility and probability. Another is whether or not human interpretation is actually an abstract definition of the Bible rationalized through intellect and imagery.

The many books of the Bible are written by many authors over a span of several hundred years. Their inspiration was affected by the times in which they lived and their personal experiences. Therefore, one’s own interpretation may be inconsistent with another persons. They may have lived during the same period, but interpreted the same experience differently. A true understanding of these distinctions lies at the heart of metaphysically interpreting the Bible.
