World Religions and the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is evident in the religions of the world, but in slightly varying concentrations and focuses. In both Buddhism and Hinduism, there are frequent references to karma. The effects of our actions in this life not only affect what happens to us today, but also in our lives in the future. If we are to escape this cycle, a practice of non-attachment must be started, and we must change the direction of our thoughts. In Christianity, it is said, "as you sow, so shall you reap." This demonstrates that the energy that is emitted is reflected in future prospects and events. In addition, Christ states, "Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). The prophet Muhammad states, "Actions are judged by intentions, so each man will have what he intended." Both quotes clearly demonstrate the central point of the law of attraction; intentions direct the course of the lives of the intenders.

The Kabbalah also demonstrates principles of the law of attraction. Nina Amir describes it in stating, "The Kabbalists teach us that we are each a thought in the mind of God, as is the Universe in which we exist. If I am a thought in the mind of God, and that thought causes me to exist, to be manifest in the physical, then if my thought of creation is also of God, than it surely will be made manifest as well." Although there are surface level differences between these religions, there are similarities in regard to the law of attraction.
